Roadside Attractions has just dropped the official trailer for their upcoming action-drama, Lee, starring the incredible Kate Winslet.

Get ready for an intense journey through history, love, and the brutal realities of war.

About Lee

Set in the late 1930s, as the dark clouds of Hitler’s rise loom over Europe, Lee follows the extraordinary life of renowned photographer Lee Miller (played by Winslet).

Leaving behind her artistic circle in France, Miller heads to London after falling for art dealer Roland Penrose (Alexander Skarsgård).

Their passionate romance is soon overshadowed by the outbreak of World War II.

Already making waves in the photography world, Miller lands a job with British Vogue.

However, she quickly finds herself stifled by the era’s rigid gender roles.

Frustrated with documenting only the British home front, Miller defies societal norms and, with the support of her editor Audrey Withers (Andrea Riseborough), ventures to the war’s frontlines.

Determined to capture the stark reality of war, Miller’s lens focuses on the harrowing human suffering caused by Hitler’s regime.

Her tenacity and bravery enable her to send powerful, unfiltered images back to the female readers of Vogue, who had been shielded from the war’s true horrors.

Kate Winslet stars as Lee Miller in Roadside Attractions’ ‘Lee’, in theaters September 27

Miller’s relentless pursuit of the truth brings her to the siege of Saint-Malo, where she photographs one of the first uses of Napalm.

Teaming up with Life Magazine photographer David E. Scherman (Andy Samberg), the duo produces a series of iconic images that still shape our understanding of World War II.

Their collaboration reaches a climax when they infiltrate Hitler’s Munich apartment and take the infamous photograph of Miller in Hitler’s bathtub—captured just a day after Hitler’s death and the liberation of Dachau Concentration Camp.

This film doesn’t shy away from the raw, gritty reality of Miller’s experiences.

It showcases her empathetic approach to the victims of war, especially women, and highlights her images that portray both the fragility and strength of the human spirit.

Lee also delves into Miller’s personal battles, revealing a traumatic secret from her childhood that she confronts amidst the chaos of war.
