💬 Muni Long Has Something To Say… Loudly And Clearly
Muni Long is never one to bite her tongue, and she’s once again proving that she’ll always defend herself—especially when it comes to criticism from her own community.
The Grammy Award-winning R&B singer took to social media with an unfiltered clapback aimed at Black women who’ve criticized her personality and attitude.
And sis did not hold back.
🎤 “I’m Acting Just Like Your Raggedy Mama And Aunties With Ashy Cankles”
Muni Long, known for her hits like “Hrs and Hrs,” vented her frustration over how her confidence is often mistaken for arrogance—and how the harshest criticism seems to come from Black women.
“There’s only ever Black women that say they don’t like my personality. You notice that? Because I’m being myself. I’m acting just like your raggedy mama and your aunties with them ashy cankles. This is how they act. There’s something wrong with my personality?”
She continued by calling out what she views as projection and internalized dislike.
“Take a look in the mirror. Ho, you don’t like you.”
👑 Confidence Or Conceit? Muni Makes It Clear
The R&B singer went on to explain that she refuses to dim her light or fake niceties just to make people feel comfortable.
“You a bully. And you used to people laying down, letting them do whatever. I’m not that. It’s never gonna be that. Like, oh, she stank, she got… Who are you? Why do I have to be nice to you?”
Instead, Muni calls her attitude a reflection of self-worth—not nastiness.
“It’s called being confident in who you are.”
She added that even something as simple as enjoying brunch with friends invites unnecessary backlash.
“I’m sitting here enjoying brunch with my friends, but I got attitude. My attitude is nasty. I think your attitude comes up to success… mad because I’m cute.”
