Harve Pierre, the former president of Bad Boy Records, is facing serious allegations of grooming and sexual assault in a lawsuit recently filed in New York County Supreme Court.
This legal action follows closely on the heels of an explosive lawsuit filed by Cassie against Sean “Diddy” Combs, accusing him of rape, physical assault, and sex trafficking.
Surprisingly, Diddy settled Cassie’s lawsuit just a day after it was filed, for an undisclosed amount.
The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, asserts that Harve Pierre preyed on her “on multiple occasions in New York City and other locations throughout the country.”
According to the filing, Pierre exploited his position of authority as the plaintiff’s boss to engage in a year-long pattern of grooming, sexual harassment, and ultimately, sexual assault.
Allegedly occurring from 2016 to 2017, Jane Doe claims she suffered physical, emotional, and psychological injuries, as well as pain and suffering as a result of the incidents.
Seeking damages that will “fully and fairly compensate” her, she has named Bad Boy Entertainment, Bad Boy Records, and Combs Enterprises as co-defendants, accusing them of negligence and gender violence.
The lawsuit argues that the defendants should have known that Pierre was unfit for a position of authority, particularly given his access to individuals like the plaintiff.
Bad Boy responded to the allegations by stating that they have recently become aware of the lawsuit, emphasizing that neither the plaintiff nor the executive are current employees.
They are now actively investigating the allegations, prioritizing the safety and well-being of their employees.
We have recently become aware of a lawsuit filed in New York by a former employee. The allegations are from many years ago that were never brought to the attention of the company.
Neither the plaintiff nor the executive are current employees of the company. We are now investigating the allegations, and our top priority is the safety and well-being of our employees.
This lawsuit against Harve Pierre is a consequence of the Adult Survivors Act, which provided a one-year window for individuals in New York to bring civil lawsuits alleging sexual abuse, even if the statute of limitations has passed.
The act is set to expire on November 24, 2023.
Cassie, also known as Cassandra Ventura, spoke out in her statement, revealing her decision to break her silence and share her story in the face of violence and abuse.
She emphasized the importance of taking advantage of the Adult Survivors Act to shed light on the trauma she and others have experienced.
After years in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who face violence and abuse in their relationships.
With the expiration of New York’s Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity to speak up about the trauma I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life.
